Board of Directors

The United States Twirling Association (USTA) was founded in 1958 as the first national twirling organization to be run democratically and it remains the only twirling organization that elects its Board of Directors through its membership.

USTA Board consists of five sector representatives who live in the sector they represent, and two at-large board members who live in any sector. Board members are unpaid volunteers who:

• Govern the financial and organizational aspects of USTA
• Provide strategic vision for the growth of the association and the sport of baton twirling
• Work on long range planning in programming and schedules of events
• Conduct the fiscal planning and budgeting of USTA's resources
• Approve staff and department heads

In 2022, Sectors 2 (Central Region), 4 (Southeast Region) and the 1st At Large position are up for election. USTA Professional members who were current members by January 15, 2022 and are 18 or older by the time the election begins may vote in the Board of Directors election.

There will be two rounds of voting

• First Round voting will be available from Monday, Feb. 21 thru 11:59 p.m. PST Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022. Eligible Professional members may vote for one (1) candidate from each sector listed on the Round #1 Ballot.
• Second Round voting will be available from Monday, March 7 through 11:59 p.m. PST on Sunday, March 13, 2022. Eligible Professional members must vote in Round #1 in order to vote in Round #2. Those Professional members may vote for one (1) At-Large candidate on Round #2 Ballot.
