Japan Captures 2008
World Cup
The 29th
WBTF World Baton
Twirling Championships
concluded on Sunday,
August 10th
in Limerick, Ireland.
The Japanese team
captured the World Cup.
Japan retains the
title they won a year
earlier in Hamilton,
Ontario, Canada.
Japan
earned a total of 401
points in capturing the
World Cup and Japanese
athletes recorded Gold
Medal performances in
all events except Senior
Pairs. In fact,
Japanese athletes owned
the podium - capturing
Gold and Silver and
Bronze medals in the
Junior Men, Senior Men,
Junior Women and Senior
Women Divisions. They
earned Gold in Junior
Pairs, Silver in Senior
Pairs and Gold in
Team. The U.S. Team
captured the Silver
Medal in the Team
Competition and the
Bronze Medal in the
Senior Pair competition
on Sunday.
Rounding
out the Top Six in the
World Cup were:
