The prestigious U.S. Trials Program selects Team USA, a group of Elite Level athletes, to represent the United States in the World Baton Twirling Championships.  The U.S. Trials are held in late March or early April, every other year, during even-numbered years (2008, 2010, 2012, etc.) at varying locations throughout the United States.

Athletes competing in the U.S. Trials have successfully passed through all levels of Compulsories and Movement Technique to qualify for this competition.  Individual athletes compete in Compulsories and Freestyle in the Junior Division and Short Program and Freestyle in the Senior Division.  Gold, Silver and Bronze Medalists, and an alternate are selected in the following divisions: Senior Men, Senior Women, Junior Men and Junior Women. 

One Senior Pairs, one Junior Pairs, and one Team are also selected.
