WBTF adds Elite Duet to 2019 Grand Prix - Here's how to enter.( Wed, May 16 00:05:AM)



Attention athletes and coaches:

The World Baton Twirling Federation (WBTF) has added a new event to the Grand Prix competition!

Along with Elite Solo, Elite 2-Baton and Elite Team, Elite Duet is now a part of the 2019 Grand Prix Competition, which will be held in August 2019 in Bordeaux, France.


Here are details of the Elite Duet event:
•    The Elite Duet event will have two divisions: Jr., ages 12-17, and Sr., ages 18 and older. (The oldest athlete in the Duet determines the age.)
•    A Duet may consist of two female athletes, one male and one female athlete or two male athletes.
•    The music for Duet is the Grand Prix Solo music.
•    Each country, or federation, can take three Jr. Duets and three Sr. Duets to the 2019 Grand Prix.


USTA is pleased to announce that it will hold a competition for selection of these Duets during the International Cup Qualifier, which will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018, during the U.S. National Baton Twirling Championships in Jacksonville, Florida.


An online entry form - that will NOT BE LIVE UNTIL MONDAY, MAY 21 - has been created at

  • The online entry form will be live from Monday, May 21, 2018 until the entry deadline of 11:59 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.

Please note:
*AGE DIVISIONS  (for the 2019 Grand Prix)
Where age divisions apply, “age” shall be determined as the age an athlete is on December 31st of the competition year, 2019.  Clarification: The 31st of December is included in the calculation of the age.
